This was a project for Portfolio Development, where we had to create a piece of media to put on our portfolio to showcase our skills, talent, and scope of knowledge to potential employers. 

I decided to use my own characters to make a game concept video, as I would like to make a game with them in the future. I used Clip Studio Paint and After Effects to make it.

I started by making a storyboard in Clip Studio Paint and exporting it as a .psd file to bring into After Effects to get the timing down and show my idea to the lecturer.

I then made the final assets, and took pictures for the backgrounds, such as the bedroom of someone I know, the picture of the stage from Crane Lane in Cork city, and the video of the train passing. I wanted a mixed media aesthetic similar to Gorillaz where they have the drawings and animations in real places.

I animated all the characters in After Effects and added the backgrounds, it was really similar to the storyboard, so I didn’t need to change much of the timing or visuals.
